3RD BRAKE LIGHT on 993 - Suggestions???
On my '95 993 coupe (manufacture date 10/94), a very nice GTek whale tail was added by the previous owner, and the basket handle on the engine lid removed. Lid and tail sprayed, and holes for basket handle filled, and basket handle not re-installed. Now with out of province inspection, need the third brake light to pass and register the car. So... option include: (1) reinstall the handle (I don't like the look), (2) buy a new handle that fits the upper edge of the rear window (probably expensive, needs to be sprayed and who knows about the wiring job), (3) install a light interior either at the top or bottom of the rear window (so not an OEM part or design and who knows about the wiring). (4) other?
Suggestions or experience? Thanks...

Oh, the other one is: have the Porsche body shop cut a nice thin light into the edge of the whale tail, may look good if they can do a spectacular job, but can they?....

My first choice would be to put the OEM LED strip at the top of the rear windshield found on 96+ cars. It probably won't be too cheap.
The other thing you could do is install additional brake lights in the rear fog light sockets. I've done that on my car as well as the stock LED strip.

search for "DIY third brake light" and look at the post by me from a couple years ago. If you're handy you can do it for less than $20 and it looks nice (IMHO).
