Default Please help determining a value on a 1995 911 set up for PCA track days...

...If this vehicle has already been discussed please accept my apology. The seller has been responsive, seems honest and has dropped the car off for a PPI at the local Porsche dealership. Waiting for those results.

I'm reaching out to all of you for insight into what this car should sell for. It has so many modifications that I have no point of reference. Obviously, KBB really doesn't apply.

Thanks in advance for any information!

With 180K on the clock, a top end and clutch is likely due. Probably a DD, too, so Chicago winters might have been pretty tough on it. Hard to put a price on it without knowing these things. Could be anywhere from $15K to $25K. A lot of the mods don't count for much in the open market.

$25,000 is way too much money for a 993 with 180,000 miles unless it's had a top end refresh, new clutch, lightweight flywheel, short gears, Motons, etc. If you're thinking of bidding, be sure to have the shop check for play with the Tarett links. It's unfortunate that a dealer is doing the PPI and not an independent Porsche shop. This car also looks likes it's had some rear end damage. Note how the deck lid doesn't match the right rear fender. Could just be the light.

I wouldn't pay more than $16,000 for the car.

20k is my guesstimate. The go fast goodies in this car don't really make up for the high miles and general ratty condition in my opinion.

I agree with Mark, but I'm no expert whatsoever.
Note that one pic in the ad shows the dreaded window rust cancer. Full disclosure here, at least...

So the PPI came back with several issues... Power Steering rack in need of replacement, oil residue from several leaks, two front tires in need of replacement, brake pads all around, alignment, race belts were expired, A/C, a front light, rear light. Although the carfax was clean, several panels were re-sprayed and gaps were slightly out of spec. There was no evidence of a top end rebuild. The owner said that happened 38k miles ago, so I don't know if that would be able to be proven in a PPI. Also, no evidence of clutch/flywheel.

The Technician did note that the car drove well...

There was more in the PPI, I can't remember it all. I offered 16k, but the seller wants thousands more...

Thanks for all the help!

To be a dedicated DE car, it will need more work soon (trans and motor) if it is to last for awhile. 20K ish and expect to put more money into it. Some recent 993 DE cars passing by here of late are mid 30's and up.

As a DD with go fast (in the corners) bits, it seems rough and high mileage, again maintenance is in its future. You would be better to find a less used example and save money in the long run.

Is it? Yeah, it's got "stuff" bolted on. Does that make it better, even on track? I'd say 90% of the time all but the most advanced drivers will have a more enjoyable time in a car set up with fresh, stock/near stock equipment.

I think the OP's offer of $16k was reasonable. Like Mark, I wouldn't pay any more, especially since you may need to sink a lot of money into it.

Just an acknowledgement that it had "stuff" along the lines of common mods, not a statement on their correctness, effectiveness, or need of maintenance / replacement given mileage. HMWV. And I did mention it "seemed" rough as a DD if that was the OP's main intent.
