I'm jonesing for the S. FL car scene.
From RLer 600RR's "Pretty Cool" thread:
JD, you listening?
MiamiHerald.com's "At planned condo, cars and drivers ride elevator home"
The latest twist on designer parking garages: a Jetsonesque elevator that whisks residents to their condos while they are still in the driver’s seat.
Pull over into the designated space. Turn off the engine. And enjoy the oceanfront view as you escalate in a glass elevator that takes you, while you are sitting in your car, to the front door of your apartment.
No, this is not the latest Disney ride.
The $560 million Jetsonesque tower is a collaboration between Germany-based Porsche Design Group and a local developer. It likely will be the world’s first condominium complex with elevators that will take residents directly to their units while they are sitting in their cars.
“You don’t have to leave your car until you are in front of your apartment,” said Juergen Gessler, CEO of Porsche Design Group.
57-story, $650 million Porsche Design Tower condo planned by developer Gil Dezer. The building features glass elevators that whisk drivers with the cars directly to their homes.

I spent last winter five blocks away and will try to spend the next winter there. After reading all the hype I was curious of the exact location as it sounded like they've already broke ground from Miami press.
We'll, they have not even started clearing the old building there. I don;t think it'll be built any time soon if at all. Although I must say that Sunny Isles had more Bentleys and Aston Martins than I've ever seen in my life in the previous 40+ years.

How 'bout Singapore?
AutoBlog.com's "Luxury high-rise offers elevated en suite parking:"
Big-city parking can be a challenge, but a high-rise in Singapore offers an innovative solution to the problem. The Hamilton Scotts apartment building features unique "En Suite Sky Garages" that use an elevator to deliver cars right into homeowners' premium living spaces.
Instead of the car living in an underground garage as is common in most high-rises, these apartments make owners' cars a focal point, parking them behind a glass wall off the living room, as seen above. To park, residents pull into a designated spot and then use a biometric thumb scan to send the car to the appropriate apartment.
The buildding's website says that it offers 54 three-bedroom, 3.5-bath apartments and two "uber luxurious penthouses." While the the site doesn't show pricing for the units, CarScoop says that the apartments list for $7.5 million while the four-car penthouse suites command $24 million.
Would you trust an automated elevator to valet your Lamborghini? Check out the video below to see how it happens.

I've been to Singapore three times. In Sunny Isles you see about 5 times more fancy cars per day and there are probably 100 times more of them per person leaving there. It's like a weird vortex of old people and abject ******** in shiny jewelry and expensive cars. The tower, if built, will do well there.
Plastic-surgery wise it's probably ahead of S-pore as well.

having grown up in Miami and then lived on the west coast for years (Oregon) there is no comparison. the roads in Florida are straight and flat. all you can do with a great car there is look good in it.... CA and the left coast have some fantastic driving roads. what our cars are made to do... drive!!! lots of other issues in CA but as to driving great cars - the west is best!
