Cat by-pass (X-pipe vs straight)
There are all kinds of theories about the harmonics of x-pipes, but I am wondering if anyone has actually compared the two and what the difference is to the ear?
The bad news on the individual cross over pipes, the one on the low side seems to get scraped...my car is at RS ride height.
Re. the X pipe set up from Fabspeed, in conjunction with FD Motorsports Stage 1 mufflers, my 80,000 mile 97 993 with an unmolested engine, cranked out 254 HP to the rear wheels. I didn't dyne the car with the cross over pipes.
A pal with a 993 that I go to the track with, observed that before my conversion to X pipes and FD I, we were neck and neck on the straights. Post conversion, I pull away from him significantly.
