New 993 - Performance Upgrade Advice
Hi gang,
I just picked up a 97 993 C2, always wanted one... love it...
I'm in Norcal - who would you recommend for some neat but not over the top, upgrades. Suspension, wheels, brakes, sports seats, sport wheel.
Between San Jose and Marin County -
Thank you much
Speef

Best bet is to search, search, search the forum. There is soooooo much info that has been discussed to great length.
Also, soul search... what do you really want to achieve, and how much do you want to spend!
Do the search, it is your friend here.
BTW I am VERY HAPPY with a TPC supercharger on my 1996 993 C2.

Hi speef!
Welcome to the new world of goodies! You are in such a great position as there are a plethora of things that you an accomplish with your vehicle. I believe mr_bock is quite wise. I would start with three major questions: timelines, budget, goal (horsepower? tq? track driven?) etc. IT would then lead you to one of (many) first mods. Good Luck!

Join PCA and do a Performance Driving School and/or Autocross (AX). Performance upgrade for the driver, so to speak , and a kick in the pants!
Brakes are as good as they can get, unless its a track car. Suspension is a HUGE win (shocks, springs, ride height, A-arm bushings). Search on seats (don't sit in GT3 Recaros unless your budget is ready for it...), wheels, etc. Some do super charger, but the cars are just plain fun even without.
Seriously, get a good beverage of choice and start searching the archives. Prepare to waste every spare minute you have for the next....err, few years?!?!

Most people go with suspension upgrades...PSS10s or similar coilovers will transform your cars handling and ride while still keeping it adjustable for height and firmness. Walrod A-arm bushings can easily and cheaply be added to the front when you change out the coilovers.
Since power upgrades are not easily or cheaply done concentrate on the suspension, exhaust, shifter, seats, etc. I think you will find like most of us here that you will not want for power if your car feels (and sounds) right.
As for me, I went a step further with lightweight flywheel and clutch plus RS motormounts. Although I dont track my car, I feel like the world is my track with this extra step.
Welcome to the 993 world. They are fantastic cars to look at and drive.
Like others have mentioned, Darin Fister and Mark at FDM are your guys.
