Default 2003 993 TT? :o) Have you seen this "Getting Schooled" article in Autoweek?

Was at the gym today looking for a magazine to read while on the stationary bike and noticed an Autoweek - rare to see at my gym.

In this article (see pic below) it says "Jack Gish built a 20 car garage out of his son's former nursery school in Central Connecticut to house a chronological collection that illustrates Gish's favorite innovations in Porsche sports cars, from a 1955 356 to a 2003 twin turbo 993". How could they get this so wrong in a major car mag?

Looks like a really interesting place - I'd like to check it out. All the magazine did was put a 3 instead of a 6 - they didn't kill anybody.

True... I guess any car mag could make a mistake like this pretty easily. Would love to see his garage one day...

Autoweek is a pretty crappy rag; all of the mainstream domestic mags have gone SO far downhill over the past decade.

They turned a school into a garage to house a car collection? What on earth has happened to this country?

Geez Louise man! It was a nursery school - that's a fancy name for a day care. It's not like the kids were all sent out on the street or something. Besides, wouldn't it be every kids' dream to have their school turned into a Porsche garage...

Not to mention the building was probably functionally obsolete. He's 60. Kids went to preschool there. So that's 30+ years ago. Think maybe (if the business is still around) that it's more cost efficient to start over somewhere else at some point?

Even if it were a "real" school, look around places like San Francisco that have a fraction of the number of children attending public school now v. the 60s and '70s. We just keep those places open, no matter the cost?

I let my subscription lapse after they went from AutoWeek to AutoBi-Week. My brother did too. More than 50 subscription-years between us.

I also was getting kind of tired of the watch and cigar articles.

I generally agree.

My neighbor is a "hot rod" and "Bonneville" guy signed me up for a subscription to this magazine. It covers all kinds of cars, but I have to admit it doesn’t hold my attention very long. I always read the articles on the foreign cars but lose interest very quickly on the domestic stuff.

It is probably my least favorite auto periodical.
