Default Smoke on startup after sitting couple of days?

Newbie question here, as soon as it warms up its gone. It doesnt billow smoke just looks like startup in really cold weather then its fine. Anything I can do to prevent this or is it normal

Thanks

A little smoke on startup isnt out of the ordinary at all. As long as it goes away quickly.

If it's not a puff of oil smoke, and it really does last for 30 seconds, it's not normal.

Hi

In cold weather white smoke would be condensation no? In which case depending on the weather could easily last 30 seconds or longer.

Blue smoke is a different matter of course.

Do you park it after a drive or start it up to move it then shut it off? After i push it out of the garage and wash it I will let it run for about 5 minutes so it warms up. I moved it quick one time and shut it off and the next time I couldn't get it started for 10 minutes.

I meant it looks like the same visible exhaust as when you start any car in winter. It's definitely not blue and does not smell like oil at all. Happens maybe 1 out of every 10 or 15 starts. It was 95 up here too today in the great white north LOL!

Nothing to check into and don't waste your money chasing a non-problem. It is normal for a flat six to puke blue oil smoke once in a while. It's part of the charm of the car.

What Mike Cap said. It is a characteristic of the flat-six engine design. If you really want to see some smoke, stop by your local airport and watch the big Lycoming and Continental flat-sixes fire up.

Bobby,

That's funny - I was going to say the same thing. My Bonanza does the same thing sometimes. Looks like a blue smoke bomb went off.
