I was replacing both front and rear windows and was told that this was the time to replace the headliner (the old one was grey and had a small tear). The implication was that both windows need to be out to replace the headliner. There may be a way to do it with the glass in but I am not aware of it.

Here are some in-process pics. If there is something specific that you'd like to see, just let me know.

Pulling the old carpet. Well documented misery:

Thanks! I've been doing all of this in a vacuum so it's nice to get the positive feedback.

The stereo is one of the few things for which I was not able to find a road map here on the 993 board. Since others might be interested, I will start a new thread for that.

Looking good Jeff! I see some of my body parts and Toby's car in the background.

I had a bad experience going a bit grey market because Recaro was back ordered. If I were doing it all over again, I would go to Stable Energies in NJ (and wait if I had to). I dealt with Joe there for all of the associated HW (he was out of the seats) and had a good experience (no affiliation).

Hi Jeff -

Thanks for the pic. So are you saying that without a bezel, the RS tray fits loose in the center console?

Did you say this was a targa switch or is it something else? And how did you extend the wires...did you require the connection or just cut and added wire to increase length.

Thanks

A couple of notes: The hole in the tray is larger than the switch. Gert sent me a rectangular bezel that made it fit and it looks good. You also need to extend the wires to move the switch.

You can see the tray and switch in this picture (not my car):

Very nice mods !!!!

By chance do you have any pics of the safety belts buckle receptor (not sure about the proper terms) and how you install it on the seat'sides ?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

I did not take pictures of the seat mounting process (too busy sweating and swearing at the time) but there is a great thread with pics posted by e9stibi https://rennlist.com/forums/members/40059-e9stibi.html

In that very well done thread, you will see a picture of the seat belt receptor mounted directly to the Brey Krause side mount (which I choose in part because it has this feature). IIRC, the receptor is attached to the BK mount with the same bolt with which it was attached to the OEM seat.

I hope that helps. Lots of good stuff on this if you search the archives. Thanks to all that went to the trouble to document all of this. It sure helped me out.
