Always!

Agree, most have a clueless look on their face but I still continue to flash

I've been alerted to a trap while driving without the V-1 by other drivers doing this.

(It also calls to mind the internet story of the enterprising kids with the hand-made sign:

Cop catching almost no one in his radar trap one day. Turns out kids had a hand-made sign three blocks up stream saying "Warning Radar Trap Three Blocks Ahead!" , and they had another similarly-lettered sign two blocks after the trap saying "TIPS" with an arrow pointing to a very full, big glass bowl)
Awesome story Mike!

I had similar one day on my way to work with my Buell, wasn't going fast but a pedestrian waved down with his both hands... Couple of blocks later there were cops with radar...
Even though I wasn't speeding, I thought about going back to thank him.

I do everytime, even though in this part of the world only 2% of drivers return the favour

This is a two-edged sword. I'm no saint by any means, but I have mixed feelings about this. In a former life I got to hold hearings for negligent drivers with too many points. I did 7 hearings a day, 5 days a week for 2 1/2 years. Anyway, I got to see the records of a lot of negligent drivers, it's often not pretty. How would you feel if that driver flying the other way killed someone you loved? Just food for thought.

I always do. my wife thinks its crazy, claims nobody else knows what that means. Glad to read at least some people do. for the vast majority of drivers, they are so oblivious, I am sure they don't even see the the flashing lights.

Heck yes

The places I do this don't involve high speed, dangerous driving.
Simply put, they are revenue generating speed traps.

I can count the locations on less than one hand

I usually flash - and often get the blank stares.

BTW: Ten years ago Porsche drivers used to give a wave or single flash to oncoming P-cars but I rarely see this anymore. What happened to that practice?

ALWAYS! It's the right thing to do no matter what! This is the land of the free right?

I pity the cops who don't have he courage / integrity to speak up about being revenue collectors instead of police...

Other than a couple of times with laser here on Hwy 24 or I-680, I can't really remember seeing radar enforcement in my travels anymore.

I've got machines in 4 PDs. I suppose I can ask as I pass through their offices during the coming weeks.

People flashing/warning me has saved my bacon many a time. I always warn others if possible. I try to catch people for about a 1/4 mile (small roads) and .5 mile (hwy). After that, I figure they'll speed back up and get caught anyway.

Absolutely.... what goes round comes round. Rules of the road....

There's always that fast moving car who get's the message.... and ya see the vehicles nose dip down in a effort to slow. What goes round comes round.....

Yup. Will also flash my lights if there are joggers/bikers on the road with blind corners ahead.

I never flash... my thinking is that since the trap is meant to fulfill a quota, the earlier they get there the better. And if it's not me, that's perfect. But it has to be someone, and if I save someone elses butt then there's more chance that I'll get one.

Just reducing my risk.
