That guys email must be on fire by now with all the usual suspects and their dog contacting him in the vain hope that the thing is legit. Its an odd listing for a scam tbh. Now if the price was $25K then all bets are off.

Maybe the seller got a price off Autotrader. According to KBB high retail is $107,900 lol

A car with 4k miles and almost 15 years old... I don't know.. thats a bit scary... Original oil.. original everything. How much to break down that motor to make sure there aren't any dried rubber..

But then again... if I had the $100k.. certainly worth the rebuild if it needs one

I agree. But IMHO the folks who phish for email addresses must be getting smarter. It is bizarre to me that they would use a 993 Turbo S to phish with.

Why not a 2009 Honda Accord....much wider audience.

Who buys these email addresses anyway? <1% of spam makes it into my personal email account.

Assuming it is a scam this guy's not looking for $100K. He's looking for the $5K deposit he'll hit you up for when he tells you there are 4 other people looking at the car and you'll need to pay him the deposit (refundable of course) to hold it.

I bought it. I'll sell rides in it for $50. The line forms over there.

I emailed him first this morning and bought it. In fact it was such a good deal, I bought two from him. Wired two $10k deposits and am now waiting for the car to clear customs from Kenya. Or was it Nigeria. I forget. I'm psyched!

When you take posession of the car, I'm told my check with proceeds from the Nigerian prince is there. Unrest in the country etc, he needed a few bucks, and as luck would have it... he got a hold of my email address somehow. It only cost me a $10K investment for a $100K return. I would have been stupid not to jump all over it.

Easy street here I come.

Now I can finally dump this over hyped WB 993 and get a proper Porsche.

Definitely a scam (they now have my email address )

Was at Sloan's place on the weekend, he just took delivery of yet another Turbo S (to go with the two he already has!)....this one ultra low mile arena red on black full leather (with sport seats of course). I bought a set of 17" cup II's with new P-Zeros from him.

Say what you want about the guy, but I've never met a bigger Porsche enthusiast who sells them and has that kind of inventory.

$199k FIRM?!?! Wow, nice car but isn't that a totally excessive price?

I drove a local 97 TT-S about 7 years ago and it was being sold by Flemings Ultimate Garage on Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD for $105k. Black on black.

http://www.flemingsultimategarage.co...-inventory.htm

It was super fast and looked great but honestly, when I got back in my car, it felt about the same minus a wad of power. I was happy to own my car worth so much less. I would constantly worry about messing up my $105k car vs. my $40k (at the time) car.

Then again, if I was loaded which I'm not, I guess a thought like that wouldn't really occur. I'd just drive the hell out of it and not give it a second thought.

The original TT-S in this thread could be the real deal, or not. We really won't know till it fleshes itself out. Stranger things have happened. My guess is that it's definitely a BS ad, but I could be wrong. It seems like if you're selling a car like this, you put it on cars.com or Autotrader but anything's possible when cars are involved. A Craigslist ad with no detail, and not returning your emails? Hmmmm.

I smell a rat.
