Default removing wheel balance weights

How can I remove the sticky pad the wheel balancing weights were stuck on with? Is Goo gone safe to use on stock wheels?

goo gone will work safetly. I also have success with my pre wax cleaner-I use Colonite Pre Wax Cleaner, and it works great at removing the stuff.

Put a good coat of wax or polish on them when done, helps make the brake/road dust easier to clean.

3M Adhesive Remover works well also. It's what the body shops used to degrease prior to painting. Safe for your wheels. Wax after. I use Rejex on the wheels instead of wax.

As is kerosene, varsol and gasoline. I just used gasoline last week to remove the goo-like substance without affecting the original sheen of the coating.

The weights were removed using dental floss to cut through the adhesive.

Thanks, its been bothering me since I cleaned all the brake dust off the inside of the wheels. I was afraid to damage to paint.

If it is original OEM (cured) paint as mine is, not a problem.
