Default Boot cover for a 993 Cab

I am after a boot cover (tonneau cover) for my 1994 993 cab. There are a couple of aftermarket ones available on ebay (e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PORSCHE-99...ht_1603wt_1081) at reasonable prices compared to what is available in the UK so I am thinking of having one shipped. Does anyone have any experience of either seller or, alternatively, know of anyone selling a second hand OEM cover in black?

Thanks in advance, Andrew

Andrew,

I am on the same search. I'm not familiar with that vendor and I was also looking to go the aftermarket route. I got some feedback from JPP, a MUCH-experienced Rennlister-he cautioned me against an aftermarket cover. He mentioned that most of these are Chinese-made and of poor quality and fit. They won't last very long. I found a number of them in the $300-350 range, which is about half the price of a replacement OEM cover made from the same quality material that the original one was made from. The original is German Sonnendeck and the U.S. equivalent is Stafast. Happich is a step up from that and could be specified for cars that went through the Exclusive department. JPP recommended Autos International (autosintl.net,where he got his) and I also found World Upolstery and Trim (worlduph.com). Both have Stafast and Sonnedeck and Autos International has Happich too. The prices at World U & T seem to be cheaper (Stafast, $475) that Autos Intl (Stafast, $633), but I'd want to call and confirm to ensure it is "apples to apples". Not trying to spend more of your money, but I reconsidered and I'm going to spend the extra to get the good stuff, just my .02

I am feeling extremely lucky after reading this thread. While I was in the process of buying my Cab two moths ago in So Cal, I searched Ebay and found a guy 20 miles from where the car was selling a like new OEM one for $350. I will try to dig up the vendors name and post it...although I just think my timing was perfect.

An update...I never heard back from Scientific Automotive. I decided between World Upholstery & Trim and Autos International, both in CA. I ended up going with World due to cost and the fact that they included the Tenax fasteners in the price. Autos Int'l charged $9 per ($72 total). The price ended up about $100 cheaper from World. Both were OEM Stafast material. I'm sure Autos was slightly higher quality of construction, but I'm very happy with what I got. you can see the cover in my sig pic.

The supplier talks about hardware not included? Are they permanently installed? Does the tonneau cover match the convertible top material?
Is the vender in the US or overseas?

The tonneau cover I bought from them matches my top and boot cover. I got hardware with mine.
And the tonneau is removable with snaps, just like the top and boot cover I leave mine on most of the time with the divers side unzipped. If someone is riding with me, I just unzip the passenger side.
You can zip up both sides to cover the entire interior when parked as well.

To be clear, when you refer to your boot cover, you are referring to your top cover? The top cover fits into a rectangular pouch?
I'm guessing that the manufacturer can provide details on the fitment?
Thank you!

The 95 993 cab I bought in 2020 didn't come with a tonneau cover so I found a good condition used tonneau on ebay for $500 and rolled the dice that it would fit. All the snaps and tenax fittings lined up perfectly except for one that I will need to have slightly moved to fit.
