Mr. Hunt has been gifted with a few days to cool off. This community thrives on our passion for our cars and our willingness to share information and expertise. Crass insults have no place on Rennlist. Period. Full stop. Let's hope he reconsiders his interactions with us and continues to provide his insights.

Reporting a nasty PM to a mod is okay, but airing in public is a no-no. Just for future reference for everybody that might be reading this thread. Now back to this airbag thing - which sadly I have no answers, but mere speculation. All I know on the subject is what I did with my racecar - but it was a Mazda, so I doubt this will help, but just in case... I removed the fuse and disconnected the battery, then removed the module and airbag unit.

But that won't help because it seems you want to do sort of a retrofit deal where you can bypass the signal to the airbag at will. I would live to learn of a way to do that for when I get to take my car to the track. I will have to keep lurking to see if anything comes up. If I am getting it right, there isn't a way -to but I am kind of groggy today, so maybe I missed something? If I did miss something, it won't be the first and probably not the last time, sorry in advance.

Bonnie, I would agree with you under normal circumstances. This is probably the second time in 23 years I've been on the internet that I felt the need to quote a private message. But I felt it necessary to do so in this case to warn others of what is clearly an out of bounds behavior beyond any possible redemption.

Mr. Hunt...Today you will be permanently banned not only for threats, but for obtaining a different account. I hope it was worth it.

I can't do anything about the emails, but he is now permabanned. I am going to look into banning his ISP address, as well. Sorry that you had to deal with this guy. If you are concerned further, I suggest bringing this to the attention of your local police.

Oh, wait... you said emails through the list. Hmm. I will look into that as well. For now I would change your privacy settings such that you do not receive emails from users (you will still get administrative, etc emails).

UPDATE: I have contacted administrative personnel. Hopefully I will be able to soon make sure this fellow never bothers anyone here again.

Can we confiscate his car? No one with this kind of attitude and apparent mental instability should have a 993.

Lol, John. I What is sad is that the guy is quite intelligent. Sigh. I don't understand why folks feel they have to be this way.

Yes, he has issues. I hope he gets help - and I say that not as a joke but with true concern. He has gone so far as emailing me. He works with Internet security in the UK. I hope he doesn't do something he will lose his job over.
