PPI recommended when reputable Indy shop has serviced for many years?
I am seriously considering a 993 being sold by a local Indy that also deals in used Porsches.
The 993 in question is being traded in by a customer of the Indy. The Indy has done all the maintenance and various upgrades for many years. There are lots of records showing everything that was done. The Indy knows this car intimately.
So my question is whether a PPI is still recommended in such a situation. I suppose "trust but verify" is good stock advice.
I am reluctant to name the Indy on a public board but would gladly disclose via a PM.
Indy is local to the Washington DC area.
Thanks all,
Michael

Get it done elsewhere. Good shop in Orlando maintained mine. Their PPI showed no major issues.
The paperwork showed spark plugs changed and all valvecover gaskets done. Number 6 plug was original, and valve cover was full of silicone "slopped" in to try to seal a leak.
Old adage, "Trust, but verify"

Thanks guys. I guess I needed a sanity check. I just talked to the Indy seller and he is fine with a PPI.
Any recommendations for a PPI in the Washington, DC area? I will post something on the 993 board soon.
