That actually looks great! Nice, reversible mod. From the 10 foot picture, its hard to see the transition line, which shows up really on the black version. hmmm....damn you guys and your good mods, my list keeps getting longer...

Between the carbon fiber and painted - I think painted looks much better. But I happen to like the look of the bumperettes on the rear of the car - they fill in the space and frame our smaller license plate. The wider euro plate looks better in that space. Now the front bumperettes... they're UGLY!!!!

Indeed I am with wife, kids and nanny.
hchc: I have not painted it yet, just wrapped it in vinyl to see if I like it. I think I may persuit another option as soon as I get a "donor" section to clay ad cast on.

did you make these delete covers? i would be interested in buying one, great alternative to having the bumper filled.
also, the rear metal brackets that stick out behind the rear bumperettes, is there a way to remove these from the bumper carrier underneath? or do they need to be cut off? i would like to avoid cutting them off since that isnt something that could be easily reversed.
thanks

Mine's a ROW version so no bumperettes...I prefer the body color. It's just more integrated and I feel the carbon piece will look too 'add-on', actually kind of like the bumperettes in the first place.

I like it! (Body color). Any tips or tricks for this? What did you make the panel out of before you colored it?

IMHO, it would look better if panel cut to fit *exactly* in the recess of the bumper cover such that the remainder of the Euro tow hook hole as well as the recess created by plate being too small does not show. Then paint it body color.
Then market it.

I can have these created out of sheet carbon fiber, cut to contour and shipped. The big question is if I were to source these, it sounds like more members would prefer painted. Paint to match would be easy enough, but expensive. The quotes I got from a GOOD exotic car level shop hovered around $70 over the cost of the part and shipping (about $110 on a batch of 50 parts)
The cost effective solution may be to have the part created from styrene. Still water jet cut but may save as much as $30. However I just do not think it is a good way to go for fear of cracking, flapping or simply refusing to stay secure.
If enough people are interested, I will set this up.
