Default FS: 4S Stainless Steel Door Sills. Original Porsche *Rare* No longer manufactured

I picked these up about 5 years ago. At that time you could no longer get them from Porsche but this was a left over set. The 4S were the first ones to be discontinued. Since then the rest of the models have also been discontinued. Gert still has some old stock of Carrera/Turbo/Carrera RS for $386 US.

After the discontinuation Performance Products had made contact with the Germany supplier and if they could accumulate enough orders for one model they could get the supplier to produce a small run. It is my understanding that is no longer an option either.

I'm fairly confident that you cannot find these as original Porsche equipment anywhere.

I used them when I had my 4S. They are in very good condition but have some scratches that I are shown in close up pictures below. The backs have some residual double stick tape that would need to be cleaned off before reinstalling.

The are guaranteed to be 100% original Porsche equipment. I saved the bags they came in with the part number label. (shown) $450 plus shipping.

So you paid about $350 for them, then used them on your car for several years, scratched them up, and now they are worth $550.
By that method my 4S which cost me $84,000 new is now worth $132,000.

That may be true if it was unused.... but I doubt it. Mine has a few scratches and is worth half what I paid.

Good luck with your sale.

I typically do not comment on prices but the markup is quite considerable and unusual for a rennlist community posting. This is not craigslist or ebay. At the end you need to make the call and find someone that is willing to pay the asking price.

I have always been a considerate Rennlist seller. Always selling an item for what I have in it. Like the silver crested airbag for $350 yesterday. To save the rest of you from flaming me I paid $450 for them via an ebay auction years ago. After I won the auction a losing bidder immediately offered me $550 for them and I turned him down.

You can't find these anywhere. They are no longer made.

Therefore e9stibi you can have them for the $450 I have in them. I assume by your post you are interested in purchasing them and weren't just making an editorial comment.

FWIW as I clean out my garage I shipped over $1,000 of items yesterday to Rennlisters before I had received any payments so I could be sure and only pass along the true shipping costs of the three items.

I don't see why this is a problem. He sets a price and you decide is it is worth it or not. The silver airbag was a great deal for someone as was the wheel.

Although I also think it's unusual to spend $550 on a scratched used part that is $386 new, Mark is simply leveraging the fact that they are no longer made to charge a premium on these used sills.

They may sit for a very long time at that price, since you can still buy several versions of these sills brand new. Or, someone may find a better used sill at a better price. Or, someone may want them, despite the premium pricing and scratches.

Let the market decide. If you don't want them, don't buy them.

A photo-acid etched process over brushed stainless, not too difficult to accurately replicate. I've seen an outfit in the UK makes reproductions.
