Default 993 Hard Top for Cab

For those interested, there is a hard top made to fit 993 or 964 Cabs listed on eBay. This isn't mine, but I don't see these very often, so I thought someone here might be interested.

Odd. Seller located in PA, selling a top on a car with FL plates but can be picked up in Hollywood CA. LAPD? Pricing is consistent.

Update....Word from the seller is that he lives in Philly but has some car parts at a bodyshop in LA.

This French company makes the nicest hard top for the Cab. High price but if someone wants the Cab to mirror the lines of a Coupe this is the only option from the various iterations I've seen.

If I knew things like this existed when I was car hunting, I would have gotten a cab!

There was a factory option for a hard top; XC3 $12,704. Not too many of those out there.

D. Morris hardtops are very good quality and this one has all the seals on it I'm assuming, which is a good chunk of change to buy from Porsche, so a decent deal really .. but the functionality of taking off the convertible top assembly and storing it without damage, getting a buddy to help lift the hardtop on the car without damage ... and then the reverse process every 6 months ... I can't see it.

Price is very good. LAPD would probably be in the $6,000 range. To get a new one from d-moris is VERY costly (in excess of $6,000). JP is correct about lifting - one would need a ceiling harness because they are heavy. Look great, but impractical for regular on-off-on use (IMHO). I bought mine from a RL member in Paris and the US customs process was a P - I - T -A (again, as JP can attest to).

And probably quite expensive. Shipping or pickup from a US address is a definite plus.

Not being sold by LAPD.
