Default Pioneer active subwoofer / flat enclosure fit's well into the rear seat area.

Pioneer Europe/Japan markets a model TS WX77a active subwoofer which fits the rear seat area (folded down) of our 993 cars. Its an active (self powered) band pass arrangement sub which works pretty good; 2ea. - 6.5" downward firing drivers w/125w amp & crossover. In a stock OEM 933 stereo arrangement you can simply use the R & L rear channel speaker signals as input. I'm using the DEX99-RS head unit with a straight pre-out sub out to the 77a's low level input. The active sub excepts both high level and low level signal inputs; the speaker (high) signal is a pass through set up which allow the rear speakers to continue to work. The sub enclosure has an imbilical cord with level and cross over freqency control. The 77a active subwoofer works very well.

On the practical side, the enclosures Anti Slip and Anti Scratch Polyurethane exterior is very durable so throwing a gym bag, case of wine or a PC travel case in and out of the rear seat leaves no visual damage to the enclosure. Not a scratch thus far....

I'd purchase this unit through ebay.de (Germany). The seller shipped the unit on a slow boat which took 5 weeks to the Atlanta area. Hey patients is a virtue.
