I've tried creating a new thread in the DIY section but Rennlist keeps hanging however its working here in the 993 section???
Having needing to replace this part I tried looking online and on Rennlist for where this part was located. Unless you are superb at finding Waldo its an easy part to miss which is located on the trunk firewall.
Here's the Porsche schematic which doesn't help:

Step 1: Remove the plastic covering for the firewall. Its simple and merely attaches via the rubber gasket that sits on top the firewall metal. Pull up gently and she'll start to come away from the windshield area and firewall. Just repeat the process to put it back on.

Step 2: The 96462401002 part is located here. It sits horizontally with the plug end facing upwards or the top of the firewall. Unclip the connector and once you have done that take off the Fuse Box cover as that will enable you to get at the screw.

Step 3: There are two screws that hold this driver board on. One screw is behind the fuse box and the other has the clip that holds on your carpet:

Step 4: Once the screws are undone simply pull up the board from behind the firewall and replace it with your new part.
