I have a second spoiler here (Split grill) and on one side the bracket had broken off. The material appears to be ABS but is marked PA6M40.
Besides plastic welding there is this relatively cheap product called PlastiFix.
I read good stuff about it. Anyone used it?
Okay - for anyone interested here an update to my post about fixing the bracket on the spoiler.
Because the best method of repairing various plastic materials is to weld (melt) the two sides back together with the exact same material. So I thought lets just see if I can melt the plastics together by using one of my old soldering irons and modifying the tip with a grinder to give it more of a flat tip. The heat used needs to be the right temperature as not to burn the plastic but just melt to weld the broken surfaces back together. So for anyone interested it turned out very good - and it survived a simple stress test. Oh and I made sure to use adequate ventilation to avoid inhaling toxic fumes if there were any........
