Question Brake pads and brake rotor for 993

What kind of brake pads and brake rotors do you guys recommend for 993? My car is mainly for street use and occasionally autocross.

I just ordered a full set of OEM rotors and pads, I do extensive AX and some DE days more this year. Not sure what the protocol is about saying where I bought them but, got them from the SUNshine state, which has a beautiful COAST line to drive your Porsche.

I went with OEM rotors and Pagid Sport pads (1204\3 Sport) from FD. Waiting at my front door - cant wait to get home tonight!

Stock rotors and pads. Call or email Sunset Porsche out of Portland. They are good people with great prices.

OEM rotors are the way to go. What type of pad depend on what type of driving (most likely Hawk pads for you). I'm running PFC97 in combination but its a track setup.

Stock rotors and pads...with Porsche part numbers in Porsche-labeled boxes. First time out I went with Zimmerman rotors and Pagid Blues. The squeal from Hell. Now, nada. Bliss.

Default Decisions, decisions

As far as 993 rotors are concerned, OEM is the way to go.

Here's some really good reading material on pads:

Now you just have to decide what is most important to you -- and good luck with that!

exactly... depends on intended use

for primary street use, OE Rotors are the best route in our experience, especially given the minimal cost differential between OE and aftermarket.

Zimmerman makes a "Coat-Z" rotors that appears to be similar to the OEs but we don't have real life experience with them.

Pads... all depends on your performance needs and tolerance for noise.
