Any difference in oil viscosity for solid lifters?
I'm running solid lifters with modified cams. Engine rebuilder used 10W-30 MB1after 2,000 mile break in.
Do solid lifters require a higher viscosity than hydraulic lifters, or am I ok with a 0W or 5W-40?

You need oil with high Z and P. Most of the commercial oils are not as great as the advertizing might lead one to believe. I run Swepco 306, perfect for air cooled engines with the highest Z and P levels you can get. The other oil that gets the nod is Brad Penn If you are running air cooled with solid lifters you should use one of these 2 products.
You will not find these in the local store, Swepco is used by the military and in industrial applications (big machines). There will be a local rep inyour area and they usually deliver, I buy a case at a time 24 liters.

Your car will still want 15w-50 20w-50 oil w/ reasonable ZDDP levels, there are no 0w-xx oils that I know of that will fit the bill except Mobil1 racing 0w-30 or 0w-50 which is inappropriate for normal street use and needs to be change very frequently due to it's lack of a long term detergent package.
M1 20w-50 is fine as is M1 V-twin 20w-50 Brad Penn 20w-50 and Swepco 20w-50 are also well thought of but not as commonly available as the M1 products

Thank you. I tried to find M1 20W-50 but it seems they no longer make it as it's not even on their site. I'll probable need to visit some cycle shops for the v-twin oil. I'll also try to locate a Brad Penn rep.

Current Mobil Oils
It was hard to get last summer but started to appear back on shelves in the fall, you might have to look around a little

Best oils are Swepco 306, Brad Penn, Harley Davidson and Mobil V Twin. The Mobil 1 oil is ok for hydrolic lifter applications but does not have the higher % of Z & P levels best suited for solids. The Mobil V Twin is OK but not as good as the other options.
Everyone has an opinion, check web sites and other threads. Facts are what they are. You can also use the Harley Davidson motor oil vaailable at any Harley dealer, they also require the Z & P as they run solids.
