My brother and Dad just used a guy to ship 2 cars from Iowa to AZ and back. He is a private hauler, fully licensed and did an amazing job...he is also out of the Northeast. He has an immaculate 2 car aluminum enclosed trailer and personally does all of the transporting. The car is loaded by him, and is not touched until it reaches its destination. You are in cell phone contact with him the whole way and he is extremely professional. I would highly recommend him to any enthusiast wanting their car carefully transported via enclosed carrier. As for price, he was in line with any large transport company. I have his card at home and would be happy to post his information.

I have used Intercity two times and it was around $1100 to go 993 miles, the did a great job both times.

Hey Superuser, I will end up using InterCity since they had the lowest bid (895, 1200, 2000) of 3 respected haulers. Interestingly enough, my actual mileage (despite google "approximating" it at 889) will also be "993". You know, side tracking and all!!!

Intercity was great. $2,000 from Las Vegas to Richmond, VA in Oct.

Be sure to ask for the InterCity RL discount on Intercity. I was quoted $1795 CA to CT.
