So there are parties interested in doing the swap. Now I just need the smart people to chime in. In addition to the intake, DME harness, and ECU what else should be swapped? Engine harness? The immobilizer and key fobs? Also one question a person had was would there be an issue with the SAI pump? Any advice welcome as I am out of my realm here.

The 2 964s I catch on the back straight first lap are both G cars, and they pull me by probably 8-10 car lengths! (That's why I'm not to upset about having to rebuild)

I noticed the black one was easily taking car lengths from you even when you overtook him. He must have a bigger displacement and a big cam in it. Its so noticeable.

Neither of which are even remotely legal in stock/prepared.............. But when's THAT little technicality stop anyone in Club Racing?????

Don't you just hate when a race breaks out in qualifying? I mean you're outbraking both of those guys and here he goes by on the next straight where you have to muscle through at the next turn. Hang back and learn something, right?

Yes! And I know the driver, that's why I gave him that little wave like "WTF". Let me by and we both can have some clean laps while our tires are fresh, instead of going slow side by side in almost every corner.

It's best to pit in for a minute or two to try and obtain some clear track.

Just saw the video (or part of it). Looks like the 964 that passed you at 6:55 is a local, NoVA car/driver, right? I raced him at Summit three years ago, and he was fast.

Thought about it, but wit 80+ cars on track and a few backmarker J class GT3s which I had already gotten by right at the start kept me out. Knew I could get by the 964s pretty quickly.

Yep, local, but different driver. Tyrell's old car, now Intersport guy drives it.

excuse my question if misplaced, but why don't you purchase a complete ROW varioram ?
you would sell what is left of your present engine, and freight a full motor.
There is one @ $4750 negotiable on ebay, full.
your mechanic is going to hate me...

In theory. We've had quals as short as 15 mins. No time for screwing around. Best time will be in lap 2 or 3 anyway. And if you're sent out based on practice times you'll likely be shuffled back into the: 1. really crappy drivers in high HP cars, or 2. the gaggle of Specs--Boxster or 944. Sure, they'll let you go, but overall you're probably in the same position lap time-wise.

Take a look at the Club Racing rules for Stock and Prepared. Not a lot of changing anything from air filter to exhaust port. Which made for some interesting interpretations of 964 and 993 "RS" homebuilts 10-15 years ago until they quit issuing logbooks for conversion cars unless they were EXACTLY like a real RS. And by exactly that meant even oddball interior trim pieces.

Pulling in is taking a chance, but what part of racing isn't a gamble? PCA qual sessions are 20-25 minutes. You're wagering that no one will pull a bonehead maneuver and cause a double yellow or black flag to be thrown, thus killing your chance if you didn't get it done in the first few laps. I think it's a statistically safe risk to pull in if you're being held up by others.
