oh brother, PSS-9's...

Travis, there are a number of companies rebuilding and re-valving Bilsteins besides Bilstein itself. Take a look at FatCat Motorsports. They are well known and loved in Miata world (and the guy actually knows what he's doing with valving, unlike Bilstein itself).
Ask him if he can rebuild your PSS9s. I'd be surprised if he can't.

The deal has come and gone, but I will keep that in mind for the future..very good to know! Thank you!!

This is interesting....my PSS9's have about 80K on them and need to be rebuilt soon -- at least the rears. However, I'm not the original owner and was counting on paying Bilstein to rebuild them. But it's sounding like that's not possible. Wasn't really looking forward to dropping $3K for the 10's. Hmmm.

First of all, the "lifetime" warranty is only for original owners. I had my original receipt (thanks ViperBOB), so at least this went smoothly (ie, they didn't question me not being the original owner).
I never looked outside of Bilstein for the fix becuase the failure was truly a bilstein quality failure and should have been covered under the "lifetime" claim. I was not looking for a rebuild due to wear (but then that begs the question of whether this type of repair falls within the lifetime warranty - i would think YES). For the most part, things went this way until they told me they didn't have any parts to fix it with. Still an amazing situation, if you ask me.
Incremental cost of what I paid for the fronts? It appears the manager had a good Valentine's, so he was more "helpful" in this regard today, or so the guy tells me. PM me for more info on this.
Also, isn't a new PSS10 kit cost around $3700? I don't know if you can get one for $3000.

just spoke to two bilstein reps and they said they are still rebuilding them. I am a little confused. I am sending them this thread.
Will let everyone know their response.

I bought new PSS9s for my 996C2 and my 993TT came with PSS9s. Isn't revalving cost from Bilstein about $100 per corner? Guess I should start saving and spend extra money on KWs to bypass this gross mismanagement.
