Default RUF CTR Opinions wanted

Hello again fellow 993 forum members,
We were thinking about what new 993 parts to add to our line of polyurethane body parts for 2012 and have been kicking the RUF CTR style front & rear bumper caps in poly around.

We want to know how much interest there would be if we produced them?

Let us know what you think in our poll

I didn't vote. I have had the opportunity to buy genuine RUF bumpers and imitation ones. While it would, in some people's opinion, make my car even more of a RUF, I really like the way that it looks now. So while I have considered it, I am not adding them - real or imitation.

However, I think it is a great idea for you to manufacture some. There seems to be a good bit of demand for a GOOD, WELL FITTING set of bumpers. Fit and quality seem to be a big issue on the imitation bumpers.

Good luck!

If you're going to offer rear bumpers with a center exhaust cutout option ... I'd wager there will be a line forming somewhere .. and FDM will have to brush up on their "Rufus Tip" modification :-)

If I had a Ruf or a 993-TT I would consider it. But I would be more interested in the 997 Sport Classic rear bumper style for both the 993 NB and for my WIDEBODY... just a suggestion.

I agree. Question for the rear bumper is if with center exhaust or not. Well, I like both but would go for the center exhaust if an matching exhaust would be available.

I think the RUF bumpers (both front and rear) look great! On a real RUF.
Slapping on "look alikes", no matter how well manufactured they are, feels to me like the '80s... you know, when everyone was slapping vented and louvered bumpers on everything.
Just mho

Hey, that market (and those buyers) helped pay for law school! '80s were sure fun times. A LOT more fun than how stuffed shirt everyone is today...........

Back on topic, I agree with above that well fitting components will sell. Now I'm having my '80s flashback to the poorly constructed fiberglass that no manner of reshaping could cure, and Mexican slope nose fenders that truly were cursed.

Thanks for your comments & votes so far we really appreciate it!

As regular listers we knew there would be those who think it's a sin to re-create a RUF look on a mere stock 993 and others who hate any kind of aero tuning (referring to the 80's super ugly slant nose kits that used to be produced) but that's exactly why we run these polls, to find out what's on 993 owners minds and bring the most wanted, best quality products we can to market.

I have both original front and rear Ruf bumpers and they are $$$. I wonder how much these will go for?

It would be hard to give an exact price on something we have yet to produce but we would try to keep the pricing in line with our 996/997 full polyurethane bumper caps which sell for under $1200.00

Keep the comments coming we trulty appreciate it!

You'd have my vote for a set. Now I just have to find a 993TT to convert

Are you looking for NB or WB for the rear bumper?

I would be interested in a NB with Center exhaust cutout (I already have the center exhaust)
