Default Question on rear seat delete option

When a 993 comes with rear seat delete option from the factory, will it not have the bolts required to put seats and seatbelts into the car afterwards if you needed to convert back?

Thanks!

My RSA came with the RSD and didn't have the required threaded bolt holes for seats or seat belts. In addition, you need a bracket welded on the middle hump for the seat backs which also wasn't there on my car. I don't know if that changed for 993 production but I doubt that it did.

No. My 96'TT has the RSD/luggage dump and it does not have the metal welded onto the tub needed to attach rear seats. It looks like the rear of an RS inside the storage bins.

I converted my car and it was a pain in the rear. It had the bolt holes for the seat belts, but not for the seat backs and those are not available from Porsche. The center mount is available.

Jeez, I didn't think it would be that hard. I figured the plumbing would be there, but just not the seats.

I appreciate the response and the consistency.

Cheers!

Tony. My RSD 993 had everything needed except the center bracket that is welded to the hump between the seats. That bracket holds one side of each seat back.

While that bracket is not available from Porsche, so I understand, junk yards can cut it out for you. I ordered my complete rear seat set from a wrecked Turbo at LA Dismantlers 4 years ago. It was easily installed with a few hours labor. The center hump mentioned above was cut out of the donor car and riveted into my car - no welded.

If you, or anyone else decides to do this, I would be happy to take a few photos. I plan to re-install my RSD soon as my kids are too big to fit back there now.

BTW, RSD is different between cabs and coupes.
