Default WTB: Documented 993

Gents, I have a good friend who's looking for a 993 coupe. The car must be in pristine condition and documented. He's willing to pay the right price for the right car. No Tiptronic cars need apply.

Is there a source for good (emphasis on good) quality, reliable 993s where he might begin his search?

I have no personal experience with 993s, so your help is appreciated.

There seems to be a run on these lately. For the nicely documented original examples, he will have to pay a premium.

I have no personal experience, but I have heard good thing about Holt Motor sports. Also, I think there is a place called Premier Motor sports out of Springfield, MO.

Good luck...

I would start right here on RL for best value

outside of RL, I would look at Autotrader.com and cars.com.

Truspeed http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/ and Sloan http://sloancars.com/ have excellent reputations, and generally have very nice cars. He will pay a premium for that service however.

Holt http://www.holtmotorsports.com/about.php also seems to have a good rep.

Is he looking for C2, C4, or a WB?
does he plan to track the car or primarily DD?

is color important?

If he has the time, have him search the RL 993 archives and learn as much as possible, this will help considerably with decisions.
It would help if he/you documented what his preferences are, and budget range.

in general, the more info you provide, the better (more specific) the responses will be.

Kika, Those are all good questions that I can't answer. I'm going to copy the links above into an email that I'll push to him tonight.

Thanks,
