Default 993 3.8RS cams with solid lifters

A quick question for you guys.... The stock 993 3.8 RS came with hydraulic lifters, can you switch to using solid/manual rockers with these cams without issue? Or do you need a different profile?

I have these cams in my 993 turbo engined 930, and I have been running with solid lifters for some time...... Currently doing a full rebuild due to a dropped valve, and just want to make sure these cams are ok with the solid rockers.

Also, what is the stock cam timing for the 3.8RS? I was told 1.25mm on overlap, but getting conflicting info from all over the place....
All help appreciated, cheers

you can probably switch w/o issue but generally the ss cams which have a slightly different shoulder geometry are used w/ the solid lifters. The ss cams are slightly more aggressive than RS

You can use mechanical rockers on any hydraulic-profile cam, but you cannot use hydraulic lifters on anything but a hydraulic-profile cam due to the shape of the ramps.
