Oil temperature level occasionally pegs at full reading
Just had a spurios pegging of oil temp gauge. This is very similar to the pegging when the oil pressure sensor is bad. Could be a cabling issue. Any experience with this issue? Where would you start the diagnosis? I have wiring diagrams to dive in but wanted to get the collective wisdom and experience on this here first.
thanks.

I had the same intermittent issue. Not a good time the first time it happened at the track!
I cleaned the contacts at the temperature sender, and also the gauge contacts themselves. Problem persisted.
A tap on the gauge glass could be telling - mine was cleary a faulty instrument. Tapping the glass would reset the reading accuracy, if temporarily.
So, at least 3 easy places to check. I would try tapping the gauge face gently first. If that settles down the reading, just send it out to NH or PA speedo for a refurb.
Good luck.
Best,
Matt
