As I get closer to finishing my RS tail install on an extra decklid I can't figure out what to do with the insert.
I "cracked" the extra one I had trying to get it free of that damn glue in the factory spoiler. I have since epoxied it back together but it needs to be painted.
My question is what color?
Flat Black, Gloss Black, Polar Silver or just order a new factory one?
I am leaning toward flat black and seeing how it looks then ordering a new one if I don't like it but would like to see some pictures of the grille in different colors mounted on a silver RS tail if possible.
I have zillions of pictures of RS cars but none really show the tail with the grille visable.
Anybody have pics of the above options, or experience with the different colors?
Erik,I was going throught the same decision on my duck grill. I put the stock one in just the way it is. You can always change it. However, I have seen some silver or body colored grills and they look good too. But those are usually the 98 S split ones. I vote black, satin or matt.
Polar Silver. It's not an RS, so doesn't need to be accurate. I like the body color look of my C2S and so going Polar Silver would give you perhaps a unique look.
Mine is factory flat black and I find it a bit of a PIA when applying wax or polish, it is hard not getting any on the grill and if you do it looks like crap and it is hard to remove.
If/when I repaint any part of my car I will be matching grill to the colour of the car.
