What is the worst thing that can happen to your car? See it burning right before your very eyes! You sort of feel helpless against the flames. Like most of you already know, my car caught fire due to a oil overfill. Too much caring resulted in a very traumatizing event. Most of you have seen fires engulfing lambo's etc, but to see it happen to you car is something you dont want to remember.
Here is a shot a couple of days after the fire. The $250 ITG filters were gone so I just put on the K&Ns just to cover the ITBs. We used sand to put off the fire so the engine bay was a real mess. It a couple of days for my driver to have it cleaned.

So it took me about two months to get it out of the shop. I thought I ordered all the parts, but when we got it started the oil sending unit was also broken. Had to buy one at such a high price locally since I had no time to wait. I even had to change the fuel injectors on the right side since they practically unusable.
Here is a pic of the engine bay post fire with my catch can. A cheap insurance just in case....

This side was totally burned. I needed a new power steering reservoir, oil filling tube, numerous oil return lines etc.

Before the fire, I ordered a RSCS wing and splitter. I wouldnt have considering the amount of money I had to spend for the repairs! Here it is on the car. I still have to put the Carrera emblem. Ill do it after the paint is rubbed down. I still have to align the trunk.

Ah ok. Thanks again for adding to my knowledge! But it might be sacrilege to put a RS sticker on the car. You know how some purists think.
Ill leave it as it is. 911 4.0.

Camlob, good to see that your car has "risen from the ashes". I noticed your Philippine plates. I live in Manila and drive a similar car--a 96 Polar Silver tip. If you're in Manila too, hope to bump into you one of these days, maybe during one of the Sunday car gatherings.

Hi Camlob,
As Polartip also mentioned "Phoenix" was not intended to have anything to do with font type. The term stems from mythology and is synonymous for a stronger than ever resurrection from the flames/ashes.

Seemed rather suitable for your car, glad to see you up and running again!

Hi Jose Ricardo, My friends and I go on a drive and end up at the Burgos Circle at the Fort almost every Sunday. Occasionally, we hook up with the Porsche group over there. Look forward to meeting you and Camlob soon.

Sorry to hear about the fire, glad you beat it before it took the whole car.
Your motor and body work really capture what these cars are all about. Looks amazing!

Great color combo, love the orange. The Phoenix is a bird that dies by bursting into flames and then is reborn from its own ashes, nothing to do with font. That would actually be a kind of cool name. Car looks great!
