Is ther an alternative to the $250 porsche cam holding tool? I'm ready to start pulling the long block apart but it seems I need this before I can go any further.

Just received one from Automaton for $89.99. Also got the ial mount and indicator...
Want to but mine next month? I have everything needed for cam indexing... Solid lifters, chain tensioner, etc

I'll take the cam sprocket holder and tensioners. You Ship them to Don, and he will then ship them to me...how about that?

Thanks for the offer, I might be interested in the cam timing tools. I'll send you a PM. I need the cam holding tool sooner, though, so I'll check out Automation.
