Default 993 Gone to a new Home..

Well After 3 years and 14,000 Miles, I have sold my 96 993. She went to new owner who is also a Porsche nut. Felt weird as the new owner drove off - Oh well time to move on!

This was the longest I have owed a Car - I usually dont keep them for over 12 months

I bought a 98 C2s. Always wanted a Wide body 993. The right car came across and I pulled the trigger!

I sat (and drooled) on the new 2012 911S Coupe in Frankfurt the other day. The hook was set just as the nice hard bound 911 prospectus jumped into my luggage. This car is very different from its predecessors. I’ll need to learn more, take a long drive in one, etc. but if looks alone were enough to spend new car money – I’m done.

Ya know, the ’98 Carrera S that I’d order so long ago, had a purchase price (MSRP) just shy of $78k. A new 911 is easily beyond a 100K USD with "long term ownership options". – it is such a different sports car. It’s says Grand Touring somehow…ala the 928 S4. My wife had a MY00 Boxster for many years and I liked that car, even after spending thousands in leather options to cover the crummy plastics. Maybe the newest, badest, Caymen which will continue to share the new 911s chassis is the sucsessor of the Porsche car, sport car spirit. ala the 993 coupe. I'm just saying.
