The shape, to begin with. The 964 and 993 have different rear fenders, etc. The deck lids are not interchangeable.

No way a 964 lid will fit onto a 993. Look at these photos to see the difference:

Wow, I didn't have a clue, so would never afford an answer, but that picture shows it clearly. I never noticed that a 964 draped over that much.

It looks like they made it up in a bigger rear window though. Maintaining proportions?

The rear windshield is the same. So is the roof, B, and C pillars. The third brake light strip on the 993 makes it look smaller. Rear fenders, bumper support, tail lights, etc. are different.
