One-liner contest for t-shirt: Cosmoline is the topic. Win TWO shirts!
#61
Help us design a t-shirt! Edited. Changed request from a Haiku to a funny sentence/one-liner.
We're in the last days of completing the first group of inventory for our new website (p-car clothing/gear/design), and I am soliciting your help with a one-liner or clever sentence about the much-maligned corrosion inhibitor, cosmoline, to put on the back of a t-shirt. I'll be doing the graphics, you write the line. Our first draft was simply "cosmoline sucks," but that wasn't spicy enough.
I now have an idea of the design in my head, so I will post up some drafts on Wednesday. Funny, tongue-in-cheek, bizarre, taboo, etc... it's all open, just keep it relatively clean. "Cosmoline: I never asked for it"
The shirt is part of our "shopwear" line (not yet officially named), which is a durable, inexpensive, dark-colored t-shirt line to help you look the part while out in the shop (blank front so you don't grease up the design). For this design, the shirt color is chocolate brown and the text will be on the back in off-white, all in spirit of the subject matter. The winner will be chosen by us, or by you guys if you would like to vote on the favorites.
I need to have this design to the printer by Thursday morning, so to be considered, please post up your poem by Wednesday around lunch time (11/30). Winner will receive (1) Cosmoline "shop shirt," AND (1) StudioTNS t-shirt in style and size of choice (StudioTNS designs will be revealed when the website launches, hopefully within 2 weeks). No hurt feelings allowed if you don't win; it's all in the name of fun!
Thanks! Check out our blog below for info on the site launch. There are some teasers of the StudioTNS shirts a few pages back!

Hey dudes... thanks for the participation, again! I decided that there was more interest in this Cosmoline shirt than I originally anticipated, so I wanted to hold off until I could afford to print a higher quantity. Since the site is about ready for launch, I have a lot of inventory sitting around waiting to be sold. Finishing the design of the site and launching it #1 priority, and once that goes up (hopefully without major issues), I will have the Cosmoline shirt and a few others to the printer. I will still pick a winner, I promise!
Sorry for no updates--I had to push the website launch back a few weeks due to the pressing issue of helping my fiance (now wife) and her mother finish organizing our wedding. It went off without a hitch, and we just returned from a week-long honeymoon. I got a good one. I talked her into trading her Toyota for an E36 5-spd M3 and she is loving every minute of it.
The Cosmoline shirt should be designed in the next two weeks or so; finishing the website by the end of January has taken precedence. Next Tuesday, StudioTNS.com will be live... I really hope you guys like what we have designed! I'll post up on this thread when the site launches, as well as update you on new shirts.
Cheers
