Tire opinions : Toyo F888 vs Pirelli Rosso
It's a long story...but I have a credit with a tire retailer and can either get the R888 or Rosso for my C2S. I'll need new tires shortly and am eager to hear from folks that have actually run these tires on their 993.
My '97 C2S is purely a street car, never sees rain unless I get caught away from the house on a surprise rain and it will never see snow/sleet. I have PSS9s and RS sways installed. I've been running S-02s on my 993s for years and have been very happy with them.
Thanks for the input.

F888 is not available. If you mean R888, it's an excellent tire, but it's not a street tire. It's a track tire, the descendant of RA1.
Whether you Want Pirelli Rosso for street is another question. If you can get back to Toyo, they have excellent street tire in R1R. You'll be very happy with it compared to S02.
PS. Is there nothing else they offer?

I used to run R888 on the track in my 997 and they are the loudest tires I've ever experienced in 32 years of driving. Yes, they are DOT approved, so can be used as street tires and I drove them to / from the track and they make OK rain track tires, but I'd never consider them for a street car.

well,
I had a chance to' try many different tires in my 10 years ownership.
started with
pilot sport 2001(good all year tire, but in 3 years good very Yard and didn't work well)
bridgestone RE002 2005(still a good year round tire but a little noisy and fast
consumption)
Pirelli P zero rosso 2008(quite tire but not performing very well when pushing a little hard)
Toyo RE888 2011(after Being bored of changing tire because of ageing instead of finishing)
one thing is that from 2001 to' 2006 it was my DD and had a lot of different experiences,
then It become a max 2000km per year CAR and all changed in my needing
My CAR's only seen track twice, one in 2001 in Misano with PS
and one few days ago in Imola with Toyo....about 200 km
the track differencies Are huge,so no. dense to' compare there...
in the street, the Toyo Are very very noisy(like racing gear winding),
but in this 1500 km I had with them(even tested under rain),I'm very pleased..
very sticky tire in all condition(impressed even in set cond compared to' what I thought)
good wearing, great look,no increase in fuel consumption, better price than PS....
another thing is that during winter I only lite up the engine once a month and I don't drive it....so....
1 Toyo not DD use,but driveble as normal
2 Bridgestone
3 Michelin PS
4 Pirelli P 0
and I'm Italian.....
