Default Ignition timing for supercharged car

Anyone here know what is the ignition timing normally needed for a supercharged 993 running 6lbs of boost?

Thanks,
Anthony

How flat is the boost curve? Assuming it's pretty flat (which for a s/c it may not be), in my experience you'd want somewhere between 10 and 16 degrees of timing at WOT in the upper range (say 4200+). 10 would be pretty conservative; 16 would be pretty aggressive. I'd probably shoot for 14 to 15. But if the boost falls off, then you'd probably want to be closer to stock timing I suppose.

I'd like to hear others' thoughts.

given that its probably a roots blower, boost comes in quickly at lower rpm and probably tapers a bit up top.

There is no blanket answer to this question as each car is unique in terms of how much advance it likes for power production and detonation resistance.

best way is to datalog on the street and have your tuner fiddle with the timing curves until he's happy with it.
