Default Coil lead too short ?

Hi chaps,

I have noticed that since fitting my RS engine carrier (which moves the coils back slightly as its a bit thicker) my right hand side coil to dizzt lead seems very taught. It is completely OEM (Beru) and was changed quite recently in fact so I know its the right item and I alos know that an RS uses the same part. So I am wondering if this is normal and if I should be worried. Obviously with the RS engine mounts the engine can't move aroudn as much but I don't want that lead snapping on me in a corner ! It does seem a bit too tight to me with not much flex left for any movement.

The coil wires, M3 end to M3 end, are 170 mm and 220 mm long. You will have to unscrew the rubber caps to take those measurements.

They do not have lots of slack, but they shouldn't be tight either.

Any chance you got the leads swapped? One is longer IIRC.

per jeff96-993, one is 16.5cm the other is 21.5cm center to center.

thanks guys, the leads are all correct ... standard Beru ordered from Porsche

they were absolutely fine with the standard engine carrier but the RS carrier moves the coils back a littl eby virtue of its extra thickness which is not insignificant
