Convertible Top Closing Problem.
I have an intermittent problem latching my top when closing it. It will catch and close most of the time (at times with a helping hand to tug it downward), but at times it will not latch at all until trying several times and it finally takes hold.
Anyone have this problem? Spraying the latching areas with WD-40 helped (should I lube them well)?
TIA!

Take them apart and grease them and check the teeth on the cog inside, you may find a couple missing. is it both sides not working correctly or just one side, if both it may b the microswitch.
I take it you have had the latch motor recall done? I haven't and wont till the originals fail as they wont let me keep the originals and from speaking with other owners who had it done, they dont seem to last long

If it's an "intermittent" problem, my guess is it's the top controller and cold solder issue. Mine was intermittent, and decided to make the top manual because I didn't want to get stuck somewhere with my top down, but in the manual mode, the locking latches didn't work correctly and worked intermittently. Frustrated I too the top apart, realigned the cables (both sides) and adjusted all the switches and took the top controller out and had all the cold solder connections fixed. Now my top works fine (in auto mode) every time....(knock on wood)
