Default Eccentric Bolt Help

Dropping the engine on my 95 C2, RL posts and p-car step-by-step have been very helpful (as has the mid-rise lift!). at the step of removing the eccentric bolts to drop the lower control arms and remove the suspension cross-brace. Passenger side no problem, driver side backs right into heat exchanger just like flatsixforme posed this past March. Unfortunately jacking the engine up only got me an inch or so, not enough to clear the bolt! Shop manual says I should be replacing my 8.8 bolts with 10.9 bolts anyhow, is there a good source for these? Is cutting the "bad" bolt easier than dropping the heat exchanger?

Thanks,

I struggled with the same bolt when installing the M030 upgrade. Getting it back in was twice as hard as getting it out. Jacking up the engine didn't help hardly at all, but in hindsight I wonder if you're supposed to loosen the engine mounts when jacking it up. If not, the suspension raises up with the engine and almost no additional clearance is gained.

like you , I have the special version, so have always had to drop the heat exchanger. certainly easier than cutting the bolt. its only 6 nuts and in my case none were frozen(can't wait for the jokes on that one).
I haven't seen the 10.9 to 8.8 replacement tsb, but makes sense.

I was able to remove the bolt on my car by first placing upward pressure on the engine with a floor jack and then just knocking the bolt w/ a dead-blow hammer. This may or may not work on your car...my bolt was nearly out and just need a little more help to round the corner. Reinstalling also took just a tap. No dent on the heat exchanger.

Did this 3-times while determining what suspension to live with (ended-up really liking the PSS10's, after trying M033, then H&R Sport Springs).

If this is the bolt I think it is you just need to dent the heat exchanger a little with a hammer. You don't need much of a dimple and it's easy from that point on.

Also, rotate the bolt such that the flat section of it lends the most clearance. It really makes a difference. Also, raising the engine only will help as well. especially those with saggy engine mounts.
