$40k - $41k; the "higher" mileage impacts the price 10% or so.

^Jeff, my neighbor is thinking about a p.o.'ed Porsche, but he's been looking at water pumpers. I'll mention your car to him Saturday moring at our daughters soccer game.

Have you been happy with Rick? He's done good by me the past +2 years for my 987S, 993TT, and wife's MB E320-4Matic.

I've stayed away from the Exchange. They have CRAZY prices!

I think this is exactly the car I want, and it's in the Chicago area. Bad timing for me though. I need a couple of years and replacement cars before I can add a fourth car.

Good luck with the sale.

This car sounds great... all the right stuff. Plus, with that mileage the new owner can actually drive it without guilt. Perfect. The appeal of the 1998 model year is that it TRUELY is the last of the aircooled, iconic 911 series. You guys know better about the market, but the car sounds too nice to trade in the low 40s.

eyelasher1 -
I too have your silver/black model MY98 993C2S basically,, however with a few alternate options; full leather, HB heated sport seats, HID, HiFi/CD, computer, M033, R. wiper, etc, etc, fewer miles and only me as the owner. All that said as a way of introduction we're similairly 993 positioned - Are you certain you would give up the killer 993C2S for forty something grand? or even less. Recently I've started driving the 93 more than ever, almost daily. School car line with my 11yo daughter is a hoot ... I regret not having driven the car more over the years. The 993 is a "best of the best" sports car...

In the end I'm taking this baby with me. Honey round up the weight lifting pallbearers. OP- Keep the 993 if you can.... I'm just saying.

Not sure what specifically makes this a mid $40's or higher example. The relatively higher mileage and no top end means that the car might require some significant work in the future. Clutch is a plus. If the suspension was PSS10 or equivalent that would boost the price a little. Also the paintwork could also be construed by some to work against a higher value. Just my 2c.
Its definitely a VERY nice car though.

paintwork was only to remove bumperettes no accident history
and no top end but oil consumption is normal
but points well taken nonetheless

around 40 would be fair then?
I'm not looking to make a profit
just trying to pass along the car for another enthusiast to enjoy at a fair price

Personally I would ask for a little more and then that gives you some wriggle room during the negotiation phase. I'd be looking for $40-41K in my pocket.
