Default Tailights!

Help! Melted a tailight!
On the way home, had a lady pull up and try to tell me something in traffic. Too noisy, but I understood her to say the rear on the car looked good!
When I got home, 10 minutes later, the smell of plastic quickly filled the garage!

The left rear light popped out, and was dangling by the wires!
Not sure if someone unscrewed the 1 screw that holds it in, but I did go over some rough roads earlier in the drive! Since it was dangling in front of the exhaust, it is melted, and needs replacing. Advice now, check your 1 screw that hold it on!!

Anyone have a lead on a good used one? For a '95 NB

This would be great but it has a chunk missing in the corner (fourth pic). I've spoken to the seller, he confirmed.

Someone was selling a pair of Euro-rears for $240 in member classifieds if you want to go amber instead of red.

sure enough, a big chunk missing. sorry, I saw the description of "excellent condition- no cracks or scuffs" and didn't see the 4th pic.

Thanks for keeping your eyes open!
Since the R side is in such good shape, might be hard to get a match. I am going to try to stay stock look and color, though.

If any one else has any leads, please post! And get out there and check your screw!

Had the same thing happen shortly after I got the car. Minor melting is hardly noticeable, but now I check frequently.

Easy fix, replace the clip that slides into the mounting tab in the fender. This insert wears out over time and the vibration etc. makes the screw back out slowly. Had that happen to me too but it's been fixed now. What also helped was a little rubber washer between the taillight and the mounting tab to keep some tension on it.

How bizzare - I found my left rear indicator hanging out last week and immediately thought someone had been trying to steal it. Fortunately it wasn't hanging down as far as the exhaust so no damage done. I mentioned it to a friend and the same had recently happened to him..... Product recall anyone..........?
