Why is the grass always greener on the other side?
Why...why...why?
I have a cool looking, ultra reliable 993 the way I want.
It looks good...sounds good (could use a RSR muffler though)... has as much HP as a lightly modded 930....weights about the same...AC to cool me in the Texas heat....ABS and airbags to save my ***...HIDs and LEDs to see where I'm going as night....BUT WHY DO I KEEP ON LOOKING AT 930s?
Especially something like this. why....why...why

I had a 89 930. Believe me. 1 day in the sun inside that car and it will be on Autotrader. I loved mine especially the looks, but as a driver it's only nice on cool days and smooth roads. The look is great everything else not so much IMHO.

993 Turbo. All the comforts of a NA 993, you can toodle around no problem, but a fire-breathing dragon when you awaken it. Just helped a friend sell his, but I know where another one is located, a black one with Andial-massaged engine...

I don't think you'd be happy if you "down graded".
Don't get me wrong. I love 930s. Almost bought one several times. However at this point in time I think they are mostly good for a collector's car. The car you have is more of a driver's car.
In their day they were hella fast, with impressive acceleration. Drive one today and the acceleration is sort of underwhelming, and they are not exactly known for their great handling.
Stick with your 993. She's an awesome ride.

A 930 is a fantastic car to think about owning but not to actually own. Just like a lot of things that are cool.
The grass always seems greener on the other side but in the end it's still just grass.

Grass is always looks greener on the other side because of the viewing angle. You can't see the dirt between the blades when you're looking over the fence.

Mark must be hitting the sauce hard again, posting up in the wrong threads.
For the love of Christmas, this is not the Skip Barber screwed me over thread.....
Check the 993 Hardback thread by Roy Disney, he probably posted his "Who has the coolest wheels" in there..

Good luck with Capital One, Mike. I hope your experience is better than mine. I had to do a chargeback with them after I got ripped off by an eBay seller in China who misrepresented some RS splitters (got Aerokit 1B splitters instead) and, despite clearly overwhelming evidence that I did not receive what was advertised, Capitol One ruled in favor of the merchant. To say that I was livid was an understatement )but I managed to handle the matter on my own terms so that there was a measure of satisfaction on my part).

I lust for a 997 GT3RS (yes the grass is greener on the other side for those lucky enough to have such a beast). But every time I drive my 993, I am reminded that there is also someone else who may be lusting the grass on my side of the fence. My car is not the fastest car, but it's definitely not slow.

I've read that many have upgrade/gone to 996TTs and 997s only to come back to the 993 later. But have NEVER heard of an instance where someone had gone to the DARK SIDE (930s) and came back. Is the force that strong on this one?
