My 993 C2 will need it's 60,000 mile service soon. Need the WOL (Wisdom of the List) in selecting the best shop for service. The two that come immediately to mind are Ruf and Zim's. Thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.

You can't go wrong with either. I have used RUF (RAC Performance) since they are closer to where I live and have been happy with the service.

+1 for RAC (RUF).

The only problem is that it is far for me from Fort Worth.
I'd love to hear of a good indie West of 360.
I just got a ridiculous estimate for SSK/Golden rod install!

I'd recommend Mayo Performance. Always had good experiences with them.

They're a small shop in Euless and they work on only Porsches. The owner has been active in the PCA for many years and is a real Porsche enthusiast, as far as I can tell.

Ruf and Mayos are my top choice. Both are extremely competent. Ruf is Ruf. And Ed Mayo is on the early 911 technical advisor board.

If you are in the north Dallas area call Hans at RAC (formerly RUF), they have done a great job for me over the years!
