Default My latest automotive tool (that I found in the bathroom)

I was changing out the rear deck lid shocks this weekend and after reading up on the procedure on p-car.com (or was it pcarworkshop.com?), there was as suggestion of how not to lose the pins on installation when you drop them: tie dental floss around the pin so you can fish it out from the lost valleys in the back of the engine. I tried it and it worked so well, I never dropped the pins.

It was a great suggestion!

Floss is also good in removing the decklid emblem. Place the floss between the emblem and the decklid. Using a sawing motion (back and forth) it will slice through the tape. Once the emblem comes off use adhesive remover to remove the tape left behind. The emblem is intact and new tape can be applied to the backside of the emblem and be used again. Oh yea and it's great for cleaning between your teeth as well.

Depends on ambient temperature. Cool mint works best in Summer.

Only had cool mint, so no "A" vs. "B" comparo (yet!). I'm sure that I'll do it sooner or later, if another rennlister doesn't beat me to the punch...

I've never tried flossing a tick, but why would you want to?

I was expecting a picture of a plunger and a great story to go along with it.

Everybody knows the plunger is for cleaning out SAI ports Chuck!

I think I've been spending too much time in the Cayenne forum...... We're (at least most of us) are a bunch of SA's over there.

BTW Chuck, finally got that book in the mail at lunch today, look for it this week.

Another idea is to place a shop rag or towel below the area, so if the clip drops, it falls on the towel, not down the hole.

Yeah, no plunger for me as I have a 95 and thus no SAI port issues.

From the condition of the paint on my car, some might think I use this to wash it though:
