Looking to stay in Portland within walking distance of downtown, anyone have suggestions on hotel with safe self-parking?

the Benson Hotel is right downtown - lots of dignitaries stay there and they valet park high end cars. right next door is a self parking lot that is under an office tower. across the street are a couple of other hotels. the Lucia is one that is chic modern. lots of other places. an embassy suites and a big hilton downtown but not sure about their parking set ups. enjoy - great city

Ditto on the Benson. Old hotel, small but adequate rooms, fantastic lobby and a GREAT Sunday brunch. They have a secure underground parking area.
