Certainly no foul using Techron or other cleaners. I do, but I time prior to an oil change. Time it to a DE weekend, and you get extra cleaning power.

Agree with the warm up while driving - especially when I find that the gear box takes about the same time to warm up as the motor. Gear box is pretty important too.
