Default Need part number for Steering Column switch

Hi, my steering column switch is faulty. When turning left the signal will not automatically cancel after finishing the turn and when turning right I have to hold the stalk to keep the signal on.

I'b be surprised if it can be fixed but welcome any input if it can and suspect I need to purchase a new switch. I've tried looking up the part number 993.613.351.00 01C but the diagram for that part number has four stalks on the switch. My C2 has no trip computer or cruise control and only has two stalks. Is there another part number?

Many thanks.

Thanks for the reply. How do I specify the correct one when ordering online using a part number, I'm stumped. Any ideas?

It most likely cannot be fixed and needs to be replaced. I did extensive surgery on the switch assembly looking for a method to fix it. it seems that the weak link is some thin molded plastic that breaks in a thin spot. no way to re-attach the small broken off plastic piece. Not to mention you have to drill deeply set rivets out to get into the thing to start with. then when you get it apart it will want to fly to pieces on you and electrical contacts and springs will go flying everywhere. then you need to be a magician with 4 hands to hold it all in place while snapping it back together and putting long thin nut bolt/washer sets through the mechanism to get it back together. i have gotten quite intimate with mine. i have a bunch of pictures around somewhere if you want me to dig them up i will take a look. It's really not worth the effort. i found a replacement on ebay for around $50...

Hi Warpig, I would have liked to been around while all that was happening, from a third party perspective it sounds funny. Thank you for sharing the pain and saving me from it. I'm trying to source a second hand unit. While you had it apart did you find any pieces made of gold that would justify the cost of a new replacement?

no all copper, plastic and steel springs inside. It appears as with everything else the "gold" part that drives up the price is the Porsche name & part number.
