993 wb grill mod?
Hi guys,
here's one to get your opinion.
I recently bougth my midnight blue widebody 993. Quite like as it is, but would be keen into modify her rear looks as I think it could be perhaps slightly improved.
I've been thinking about this options and here's we're I'd appreciate your feed back:
1-leave it stock
2-Add the TT rear wing (always loved its looks, but not too sure if I may get tired of it after some time)
3-Add the S split version grill or
4-Color code the OEM grill as at the end of all, there's no big difference between the 2S grill and the normal-one-piece grill once painted, saving this way $300...
What you think¿?
Thanx in advance,
Alex

to each their own on this...
certainly to be factory correct, a split grill only belongs on a C2S...
putting an OEM grill on another 993 is not a huge act of heresy in my book, but then I am biased, because that is what I did... I love the look, just think it looks cleaner. I kept the original of course.
According to my 993 dealer accessory manual that I bought on eBay, the split grill was also a dealer installed option. Not sure how many people actually did this.

I went with a split grill on my C4S. I looked at every kind of wing available for the 993, both oem and aftermarket. They all seemed to take away from the rear curves, some more than others, IMHO.
I was fortunate enough to get a split grill from a dismantler, for a very reasonable price. I was extrememly lucky sourcing the various oem pieces that I wanted to add to the car. HB seats, split grill, blk/alu shifter and ebrake handle were found fast...as they say, timing is everything.
So, my vote is for the split grill.
For those who believe that it belongs on a C2S only...well, they do say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

My vote would be add the TT rear wing, esp as you stated and I totally agree "always loved this look." You could always convert back but I don't think you'll get tired of it.

Do what makes you happy, keeping the original parts in the event you want to revert back to factory stock. I'm a stickler for originality myself for concours events.
